Concept & Design Thinking

The main aim of this project was to create a sophisticated yet warm villa, ideal for both luxury seasonal rentals and comfortable family living. Situated in one of the most scenic locations on Lake Como, the villa was designed to embrace and frame its spectacular natural surroundings.

Central to the concept was a focus on indoor-outdoor fluidity. All spaces — living rooms, bedrooms and dining areas — have been designed to capitalise on the breathtaking lake views, with large windows and glass doors allowing natural light to permeate the interior. The design emphasises a subtle yet elegant palette of warm neutrals, natural woods and muted textiles, creating spaces that feel both refined and welcoming.

The villa is clearly zoned to accommodate the different needs of the guests. The master bedroom, positioned to maximise panoramic views, is complemented by an en-suite bathroom designed for tranquil luxury. Guest and children's bedrooms are bright, airy and practical, with an emphasis on flexibility for a variety of occupants.

A highlight of the property are the extensive terraces and balconies. Designed as extensions of the indoor living space, these outdoor areas feature comfortable lounging and dining areas, including a Jacuzzi terrace overlooking Lake Como, offering a unique blend of relaxation and visual drama.

Throughout the interiors, modern, minimalist furnishings are thoughtfully combined with occasional vintage accents and local touches — such as framed vintage posters of Lake Como — to add charm and a sense of place. Natural materials, such as polished stone floors, exposed wooden beams and custom-made wooden furniture, harmonise with the villa's picturesque setting.

This thoughtful balance of comfort, functionality and aesthetics positions the villa as an attractive destination for tourists seeking both luxury and authenticity, successfully blending contemporary appeal with timeless lakeside charm.
